Shri. Narayan Baburao Mhetre

He has scientific background, completed B.Sc. Chemistry from Kasturbai Walchand College in 1972. Completed Post Graduation B.Ed in 1975.

After education, joined as High School teacher at Ped, Tal Tasgaon. He has served in education as Science and Algebra teacher for long time (1977 to 1993) with Vidyniketan Krishi Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Tasgaon.

While teaching the student, he has noticed different problems of grape farming at students’ field and at their own field. He has developed and implemented some
cost effective solution with the scientific approach. These solutions are widely accepted in grape farmers of Sangli district.

To recognise this work on grape farming, he has selected in 1994 to 2001 as Chairman of Scientific Committee of Maharashtra Rajya Draksh Bagayatdar Sangh, Pune.
He was an editor of ‘Drakshvrut’, a bulletin published by Maharashtra Rajya Draksh Bagayatdar Sangh, Pune which provides easy and applicable solution and
datapoints about Grape farming of Maharashtra state. He has personly visited different grape growing tracks of Nashik, Sangli, Ahmednagar, Osmanabad and Jalna district. During his tenure, he has conducted many seminars, field days and group discussions to promote cost effective measures in grape farming. He has
participated International Syposium on grapes held at Pune. He has put milestones in the history of Grape Farming Tehnology.

After long journey with grape farmers, he have established a small scale agro chemical division in August 2007, named as Varsha Agro Industries at Tasgaon. To
provide decision support mechanism on plant nutrition, he have started Varsha Agro Clinic in September 2010. With future trends in Grape farming, he has
developed some organic mineral nutrition products which are under the banner of Varsha Agro Bio Organics in 2014.
